About your Savvy Seafarer

Hi I’m Patti Covello-Pietschmann and these are my views from the Bridge….., a self-professed cruise expert and savvy seafarer with more than 200 cruises left in my wake combined with infinite experience writing about the industry for newspapers, magazines, web sites and broadcast media. I love to cruise and rarely meet a ship I don’t like–however  it  happens and has. But at least not in a long time with the new spiffy vessels now plying the high seas and competing for business. Cruising just keeps getting better, albeit more expensive. Spas, fitness facilities, alternative dining venues, cuisine and entertainment just keep improving with each new ship. While part of the enjoyment is leaving the world behind, for those who must stay connected ships now provide Internet Access and lots of techno gadgets to keep you on terra ferma while at sea.
