Princess Star Shines After Remodel

Ahoy mates, The Star Princess, one of Princess Cruises’ sparkling gems just got better after three weeks in drydock. For starters there’s the new “Piazza” with International Café
and Vines,  a sexy Adults Only Sanctuary and  romantic Movies Under the Stars

The refurbished pizza-style atrium features varied venues for entertainment specialty coffees, freshly baked goods, paninis, salads and tapas of the International Café. The Vines wine bar–for us wine lovers now pours more than 30 wines by the glass, and stocks a selection of artisan meats and cheeses, plus a wine shop where passengers can purchase their favorite bottle. Top deck improvements include  The Sanctuary, Princess’ signature adults-only retreat where pax can book massages in a private cabana, plotz in plush padded lounge chairs while Serenity Stewards cater to most needs.  And Times Square-style Movies Under the Stars poolside screen lets you view films and attend al fresco concerts.  And they proffer free popcorn, too. Additional enhancements include a  new Internet Café and library area,  LCD flat screen televisions in all staterooms, and a variety of other cosmetic updates.

The Caribbean Princess and Golden Princess  are slated for  similar transformations in subsequent drydocks, in January and April of 2009, respectively.  1-800-PRINCESS,  www.princess.com.

In the meantime your Savvy Seafarer is counting down the day until she gets to see the new Ruby Princess. Festivities begin November 6 in Fort Lauderdale and I can’t wait.  She ship sounds spectacular and most likely will live up to its hype–Princess usually does. I’ll be posting photos and feedback so stay tuned.
