Booked on a Windstar Cruise, no worries. The small, upscale fleet of computer-operated, 440-foot four-masted sailing ships is still alive thanks to TAC Cruise LC that bought it in a bankruptcy auction which was just approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware .
The court transferred all of Ambassadors’ assets, including its principal operating unit, Windstar Cruises, to TAC Cruise LLC, an affiliate of Xanterra Holding Corporation. The sale is expected to close next week.
No probs for pax holding tickets on any of three ships, the company says sailings are on scheduled.
TAC Cruise LLC is a division of billionaire Philip Anschutz Corp. which also owns Examiner.com Hans Birkholz, CEO of Ambassadors and Windstar, said, “Windstar is very pleased with the successful outcome of this sale process and expects to complete it by early next week.
