Crystal Cruises’ cerebral shipboard delights include a Lord, Modern Family and Gandhi

There’s more to cruising than eating, drinking, playing bingo and taking excursions on Crystal Cruises– the luxury cruise operator that spices up its voyages with such intellectual offerings as enrichment lectures by fascinating speakers.

And for its2012 European season, the cruise line has a scholarly lineup that includes includes Gandhi, U.S. Generals, novelist Jeffrey Archer, and Jeff Greenberg, the casting genius behind Modern Family.

Arun Gandhi, peace activist and founder of the M.K. Gandhi Institute will be on the ship on May 9 for a Barcelona to London cruise. General Anthony Zinn, four-star Marine Corps General and former commander in chief of U.S. Central Command, goes on board for the May 21 London to Hamburg itinerary.

One of the most popular and entertaining speakers, Jeff Greenberg, Emmy Award-winning casting director of Modern Family and Frasier takes the podium on the May 24 London to Rome itinerary. We went to Jeff’s talks on the Crystal Symphony recently and found him absolutely entertaining.

Other speakers include Lord Jeffrey Archer, bestselling author of fifteen novels such as Kane & Abel and the recent Clifton Chronicles series who speaks during the June 19 Venice to Istanbul voyage, and Joel Harper, celebrity trainer for Dr. Oz, Olympic medalists, and PBS’s best-selling Firming After 50 will speak to passengers during the October 12 Athens to Venice voyage.
